WHAT IS HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES STRAND?
Humanities and social sciences strand is one of the
senior high school academic courses offered in the Philippines. This strand
aims to enhance your reading and writing abilities, as well as verbal
presentation, media, and information. This strand also requires a significant
amount of research and presentation.
HUMSS students get the necessary knowledge and abilities
to create meaningful change through the study of social science theories and
concepts, society issues and practices, cultural, social, and political
studies, and moral concerns discussions.
The study of human behavior and interaction in social, cultural, environmental, economic, and political situations falls under the category of humanities and social sciences. In this track, you’ll meet future lawyers, teachers, cops, psychologist, politicians, writers, soldiers, police and more professions.
There are lots of valuable things that you can learn
under HUMSS track, it is very applicable in our daily lives scenario wherein we
encounters lots of issues in ourselves and in the society. The Universal
Declaration of Human Rights, which is extremely significant in our society, is
one of the most significant things we can study in this course. You'll also
understand about your socio - cultural and political rights as a citizen in the
Philippines and etc. One of the most interesting topics under this
strand is the study about the power of the mind and how
it will affect our behaviors this is very essential in-order for us to
understand other people, to understand mental health concerns and etc.
Aside from all of these you will also discover the fields and
branches of social science and applied social sciences.

HUMSS
trains students how to think imaginatively, rationally, and ask the best and appropriate
questions. These are essential traits that enable us to excel in a variety of
professions, including artistry, music, business, and politics. HUMSS also made
us think about other culture and how they have changed throughout time, It opens
up new chances, aids in the reduction of bad customs, gives knowledge of
various cultures and languages, inspires creativity, and makes you a
responsible citizen.
Humanities
will also help you to comprehend things better, including people. It will
greatly improve your ability to read both written and spoken language, allowing
you to communicate more effectively.
It can help
you gain self-esteem and confidence. this track, helps the students
to be active in any activities and this is one way to improve their
confidence , particularly while speaking in front of an audience. This strand
would help students to be prepared in college through lots of paper works, tasks,
and exercises, these will help you to become knowledgeable in writing different
paper works that are very common in college.
Most of
all, Humss strand develops Critical Thinking, Empirical and Quantitative
Reasoning, Personal Responsibility and Social Responsibility. And To sum it
up, HUMSS strand is immensely beneficial to students.
